At Banbury Tennis Leagues we are focused on stimulating interest in tennis and increasing grass roots participation in Banbury and District by offering competitive tennis to clubs in the area.

Our team competitions are played all year-round in a variety of formats and are currently enjoyed by over 900 players of different abilities ranging from complete novices to county standard  from 16 different Tennis Clubs across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire.

We are always looking to expand and would love to hear from the new players, teams and clubs willing to join in.

If you would like to play competitive tennis at any level in a friendly and well organised competition then please  get in touch !

Impact of Covid-19 on Banbury Tennis Leagues - Floodlit and Winter 2019/20 and Summer 2020

Art K , March 21 2020
Art K

Dear all,

In light of the recent developments and the announcements form the UK government and the LTA there will be no play in the Floodlit 2019/20 and Winter ( weekend ) Leagues until further notice.
I can also confirm that the start of the 2020 Summer and the New ( Summer Weekend ) Leagues is delayed indefinitely.
It does currently look that it will be late summer at the earliest before the threat level has decreased sufficiently to re-start competitive play.
If this proves to be the case then the Summer 2020 leagues ( both weekend and midweek ) will be cancelled and we will then attempt to play either all or may be only the key “must play” matches from the Floodlit and Winter 2019/20 season and complete them in early September.
If situation will allow we will aim to start the 2020-2021 Floodlit and Winter Leagues in late September ( 21st/26th ) as usually.
Of course this timetable may need adjusting depending on the situation.
The leagues committee will keep you updated when there is new information to share.

If you do continue to play tennis please observe the sensible and clear advice from the LTA on making it safe:

Please forward this information onto your captains or anyone else involved at organising tennis at your clubs.
