At Banbury Tennis Leagues we are focused on stimulating interest in tennis and increasing grass roots participation in Banbury and District by offering competitive tennis to clubs in the area.
Our team competitions are played all year-round in a variety of formats and are currently enjoyed by over 900 players of different abilities ranging from complete novices to county standard from 16 different Tennis Clubs across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire.
We are always looking to expand and would love to hear from the new players, teams and clubs willing to join in.
If you would like to play competitive tennis at any level in a friendly and well organised competition then please get in touch !
After a recent match in Division 3 of our Summer League between Tysoe A and Banbury B Tysoe captain Julie Smart sent the following note:
“ I'd like to point out what might be a League record.
Banbury B's number 3 man, Elliot, was 12 years old. Our number 3, David, is 82. That's 70 years difference! Needless to say, the younger legs won!
The combined ages of our number 1 (64) and 3 (82) was 146 - theirs was 26 and 12 = 38!”
Congratulations to Elliot on winning his first league match and to David on continuing to impress us all!
A great match played in a friendly and sociable spirit truly deserves well done to both teams.
